Memorabilia:
2002
- One of the biggest new games to hit the market this year was WizKids' HeroClix,
a miniatures-based role-playing game. While the initial release didn't have
any FF-related figures, the first expansion set was entitled "Clobberin' Time"
and featured a number of Fantastic Four heroes and villains.
Interestingly, FFPlaza.com's own
Fantasti-Font
was used heavily through-out
the promotions and packaging.
Maisto
produced a series of Marvel die-cast vehicles. Included in the initial line-up
were a Dr. Doom ambulance, a Human Torch
Trailblazer, a Silver Surfer Panel Cruiser,
a Thing
Hummer H2 SUV, and a Mr. Fantastic DeVille DTS.
- Toy Biz began a series of "Marvel Legends" action figures that were characterized with
excellent sculpting, as well as a high degree of poseability. Most figures had over 30
points of articulation! The second series of figures including the Human
Torch, the Thing, Dr. Doom and the Sub-Mariner.
- Bowen
Designs released, late in the year, a set of three mini-busts
featuring the Human Torch,
the Invisible Girl,
and Mr. Fantastic.
The set was created to accompany the
previous year's
Thing bust.
